Vijay Pal Dalmia

Vijay Pal Dalmia is a Senior Partner who heads the Intellectual Property Law and Information Technology practice at the firm. He has been associated with the firm since 2006 and advises and represents national and international clients in intellectual property rights, information technology, cybercrime, data protection and privacy, media, entertainment and sports.

He has appeared before the Supreme Court of India, the High Court of Delhi and other courts and legal forums across India. His related practice areas include patents, trademarks, copyright, industrial designs, technology transfer, franchising and licensing, blockchain and cryptocurrencies, arbitration, and wills, probate, succession and inheritance planning.

He also has extensive experience in court trials and in cases and prosecutions relating to criminal and economic offences, white collar crimes, money laundering, black money, income tax evasion, company law prosecutions and corporate crimes. He served as Additional Public Government Counsel for the Government of NCT Delhi for five years and is a Registered Patent Agent with the Controller of Patents, Government of India.

He has written several articles published in international publications and co-authored the Indian chapter of Data Protection & Privacy – Jurisdictional Comparisons, published by Thomson Reuters. He has addressed international seminars and conferences in India and has been a regular guest faculty for the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.

He holds a B.Com. (Hons.) and LL.B., and is a member of the Supreme Court of India Bar Association and the Delhi High Court Bar Association, among other professional bodies. He speaks English and Hindi.
