Amit Kumar Panigrahi

Amit Kumar Panigrahi is a Partner at Kochhar & Co. in the New Delhi office, specialising in Intellectual Property Law. With over 15 years of experience, his expertise spans IP dispute resolution, prosecution, and advisory across sectors including pharmaceuticals, hospitality, IT, online gaming, automobile, fashion and FMCG.

Amit advises clients on patent protection, data protection laws, end-user agreements, licensing, brand protection, IP assignment and civil litigation. He has represented a multi-million-dollar hospitality giant in brand protection and infringement matters, a US-based pharmaceutical company in securing a favourable decree from the Apex Court against misuse of biosimilar drugs, and advised one of the largest steel companies on the transition and acquisition of IP rights in India and overseas valued at USD 482.1 million.

Amit holds an LL.M. in IPR (Trademarks & Cyber Security) from Benjamin N. Cardozo Law School, New York (2016), and a B.A. LL.B. (H) from Amity Law School, Noida. He is a member of the Bar Council of Delhi, the Delhi High Court Bar Association and the International Trademark Association.
