Salil Gulati

Salil Gulati is a versatile lawyer focusing on Corporate & Commercial law, with extensive expertise in Joint Ventures & M&A, as well as significant experience in franchising, licensing, distributorship agreements and outsourcing arrangements. He also has litigation experience before the High Court.

He has represented and advised multinational corporations, including major clients in the FMCG sector, on critical transactions such as foreign investments, acquisitions, corporate restructurings, mergers and acquisitions, and the establishment of joint venture companies and wholly owned subsidiaries. Notable matters include front-ending the legal transaction for an Indian company's joint venture with ZyrOne Dynamics for the manufacture and marketing of UAVs; advising Fromageries Bel SA on its India entry strategy and joint venture with Danone; and representing General Motors in its acquisition of a majority stake in SAIC General Motors Investment Limited. He also advises on corporate and regulatory matters relating to food laws and packaging laws, and has extensive experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements.

Salil holds an Honours degree in Mathematics from Hindu College, University of Delhi (1995) and an L.L.B. from the CLC, University of Delhi. He is a member of the Bar Council of Delhi and the Delhi High Court Bar Association.

He has been recognised by Forbes India as among India's Top Individual Lawyers (Corporate & Commercial, above 10 years category) in 2021. He currently serves on the boards of several multinational Indian subsidiaries, including Fromageries Bel India Private Limited, McDonald's India Private Limited and Wesco Aircraft Hardware India Private Limited.
