Pradeep Ratnam

Pradeep Ratnam is a Senior Partner at Kochhar & Co. in the New Delhi office and co-chair of the Firm's Infrastructure, Banking and Project Finance Practice, specialising in Banking and Finance Law. He has over 24 years of multi-jurisdictional experience advising on infrastructure, project finance, public-private partnerships, and banking and structured finance transactions.

Pradeep has advised domestic and international banks, financial institutions, infrastructure companies, project developers, EPC contractors, asset reconstruction companies and private equity firms on complex cross-border transaction structuring, project development, financing, M&A and exits across sectors including conventional power, renewable energy, transmission, telecom, transport, water, ports, housing and social infrastructure. He previously worked at Herbert Smith LLP, Allen and Overy LLP and White and Case LLP in London and Singapore, and has served as Director (Legal) at IDFC Alternatives and as Group General Counsel at IL&FS.

Pradeep holds an LL.M. with Distinction from the University of Warwick, UK, as a British Council Chevening Scholar, and a B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) from the National Law School of India University, Bangalore. He is also a solicitor on the rolls of the Law Society, London.

He has been recognised among India's Top 100 Lawyers by the Forbes India Legal Powerlist (2020, 2021) and as a Recommended Lawyer by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific for Banking & Finance and Projects, Energy & Infrastructure (2022).
