Obaidur Rahman

Obaidur Rahman is an Associate Partner at Kochhar & Co. in the New Delhi office, specialising in Corporate Law. His practice areas include foreign investments, corporate law, transactional advisory and regulatory affairs, advising companies on general corporate compliances and assisting with pre-acquisition corporate non-compliances and transaction closings.

Obaidur has represented companies on foreign investments in India, including the establishment of wholly owned subsidiaries, joint ventures and acquisitions, and assists with ongoing corporate and regulatory compliance and exits from India. He also advises on organisational structuring, external commercial borrowings, ESOP structuring, CSR matters, due diligence and regulatory approvals, and provides transactional support in drafting and negotiating acquisition and corporate documentation.

Obaidur holds an LL.B. from Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, and is a qualified Company Secretary from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). He also holds a B.Com (H) from the College of Vocational Studies, University of Delhi. He is a member of the Bar Council of Delhi and an Associate Member of ICSI.
