Suruchi Kotoky

Suruchi Kotoky is a Partner in the General Corporate, Energy and Employment Practice of Kochhar & Co., specialising in Corporate Law. With more than a decade of extensive experience spanning law firm and in-house roles, she advises domestic and multinational clients on complex corporate, commercial, regulatory and transactional matters, including high-stakes regulatory investigations, fraud reporting, litigation and ICC arbitrations.

Suruchi has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions, infrastructure and energy projects, including advising on renewable energy transactions, power purchase agreements, battery energy storage system (BESS) projects, and public-private partnerships. She has represented clients before the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission and advised on corporate governance, employment law and commercial contracts across sectors including energy, life sciences and infrastructure. She is recognised for her pragmatic, solution-oriented approach and ability to navigate sensitive negotiations and complex disputes.

Suruchi holds an LL.M. in Business Law from Mumbai University and a B.L.S LL.B. from Government Law College, Mumbai. She is a member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa. She was awarded at the Women in Energy Forum 2024 by IESA for her contributions and leadership in shaping the future of the energy sector, and was invited by the University of Oxford to contribute to the inaugural Oxford Climate Policy Monitor in 2024. She has also been featured in the Legal 500 GC Powerlist India Inhouse Teams.
