Tarvinder Singh

Tarvinder Singh is a Senior Partner at Kochhar & Co. in the Gurgaon office, specialising in Intellectual Property Law. He is a registered Patent Attorney with the Indian Patent Office and has over 30 years of professional experience representing global corporations across a wide spectrum of intellectual property issues.

Tarvinder's practice includes patent drafting and prosecution, patent portfolio analysis, infringement and freedom-to-operate opinions, and negotiating complex licensing arrangements. He is one of the few Patent Attorneys in India who conducts live patent harvesting and ideation sessions with client R&D units. His practice also encompasses trademark prosecution and litigation, copyright protection, unfair competition, brand adoption and monetisation, including assignments, licensing, co-branding and franchising. He also advises on trade secrets, data protection and employee intellectual property matters.

Tarvinder holds an LL.B. and a B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry and Physics from the University of Delhi, and an Advanced Diploma in Japanese language. He has extensive experience as in-house legal counsel with leading Indian corporations in pharmaceuticals, healthcare, automobiles and telecom, and has also worked at a specialised IP law firm. He is a member of the Delhi Bar Association, the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA).
