Gaurav Choubey

Gaurav Choubey is a Partner at Kochhar & Co. in the Gurgaon office, specialising in Intellectual Property Law. He has over 12 years of experience in nearly all facets of IP law, including patents, trademarks, designs, litigation and commercial advisory, representing domestic and foreign clients before the Indian Intellectual Property Office and High Courts.

Gaurav is a registered patent and trademark agent with a unique mix of experience in technology, intellectual property and general commercial law. He has drafted and prosecuted hundreds of patent applications across various technology sectors for top Indian and foreign multinational corporations, and has represented clients in pre‑grant and post‑grant patent oppositions as well as patent and design litigation. He also advises clients on IP protection and enforcement strategies, infringement avoidance and business‑focused commercial solutions. Beyond IP, Gaurav represents clients in corporate and competition matters before District Courts, High Courts and the Company Law Tribunal, and has advised on B2B negotiations and contractual disputes in the automotive sector.

Gaurav holds a B.E. in Industrial and Production Engineering, an M.B.A. in Engineering and Technology Management from BITS-Pilani, and an LL.B. (Hons.) in IP Laws from IIT Kharagpur. He is a member of the Bar Council of Delhi, the State Bar Council of M.P. and the M.P. High Court Bar Association.
