Suma R V is a Partner at Kochhar & Co. in the Bangalore office, specialising in Employment Law. She advises clients on industrial and labour laws across various sectors including manufacturing, IT/ITeS, telecom, banking and financial institutions, and logistics, from establishment set-up to business closure.

Suma advises domestic and international clients on compliance requirements, contract labour management, employee rights and obligations, compensation, termination, disciplinary processes, and corporate restructuring and workforce reorganisation. She also handles industrial disputes, trade union activities, collective bargaining, strikes and lockouts, and unfair labour practices, as well as workplace health and safety, anti-harassment guidelines, grievance redressal and workplace investigations. She has defended companies and directors against alleged non-compliances under labour laws and undertakes HR gap analyses to mitigate compliance risks.

Suma holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Academic Laws from Bangalore Institute of Legal Studies, Bangalore University, and is a member of the Bar Council of Karnataka.
