Shantanu Jindel

Shantanu Jindel is a Partner in CMS INDUSLAW's Transaction practice group, based in the Gurugram office. His primary practice area is Mergers and Acquisitions, and he has more than a decade of experience across diverse practice areas of general corporate, corporate restructuring, M&A and private equity investments.

He has been representing multinational companies in various cross-border transactions, advising on foreign direct investments, outbound investments, joint ventures, technology transfers and commercial contracting issues.

His work experience also includes advising Indian and foreign clients on private equity investments in India and on various issues arising out of exchange control laws, the Companies Act and sector-specific laws.

He has a special interest in the healthcare and life sciences sectors and has assisted clients in some of the most prominent deals in the past. Mondaq's Spring 2024 Thought Leadership Awards recognised him in Food, Drugs, Healthcare and Life Sciences.

He has written on a variety of subjects, including exchange control laws and legal developments in the healthcare sector, for print and electronic media. His publications include "Article on M&A Deals in a Tariff-ic Environment" (The Legal Industry Review, September 2025), "Article on PE Investments in India: Regulatory Reforms and Deal Challenges" (The Legal Industry Review, July 2025), "Chapter on M&A in Pharma & Healthcare – Opportunities and Challenges" (The Legal Industry Review, June 2025), "Chapter on Healthcare M&A 2025" (Chambers and Partners, May 2025) and "Article on AI in healthcare: trends and challenges in India" (International Bar Association, November 2023).

Prior to joining CMS INDUSLAW, he was a partner at JSA. He holds a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata (2010), and is an Advocate in India. He speaks English.
