Samiron Borkataky

Samiron Borkataky is a Partner at Kochhar & Co. in the New Delhi office, specialising in Dispute Resolution. With over a decade of experience, he focuses on renewables, insolvency, employment, real estate and construction, regularly advising large corporates on critical commercial and regulatory issues and providing pre-dispute advice for risk mitigation.

Samiron has represented clients before the Supreme Court of India, High Courts, the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity, the Company Law Tribunal, and in domestic and international commercial arbitrations, including matters before the ICC and JAMS. Notable representations include advising an airline on COVID-19 fare refund litigation before the Supreme Court, representing an Abu Dhabi-based resolution applicant in a land ownership dispute, and acting for a wind turbine manufacturer in an ICC arbitration against a former joint venture partner. He also advises multinational corporations on employment-related disputes and sexual harassment investigations.

Samiron holds an LL.M. in International Commercial Law from the University of Aberdeen, an LL.B. from the University of Delhi, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Delhi. He is admitted as an Advocate-on-Record of the Supreme Court of India and is a member of the Supreme Court Advocates On Record Association, the Bar Council of Delhi and the Delhi High Court Bar Association.
