Rahul Narayanan

Rahul Narayanan is a dispute resolution specialist at Dua Associates, practicing in the Dispute Resolution group. He is a litigator with over 13 years of experience in disputes at all levels of the judicial pyramid, with particular expertise in complex commercial arbitration and evidentiary hearings.

Rahul acts for Fortune 500 companies and the Indian Government in contractual disputes, and has a track record of victories for the Indian Government in arbitral disputes. He is regularly instructed in high‑value construction disputes, shipping, oil and gas, and investment and shareholder disputes. Notable matters include successfully acting for an Indian multinational offshore drilling services provider in a US$85 million claim before the Supreme Court and in arbitration; acting for a US multinational quick service restaurant chain in shareholder disputes valued at approximately 1,700 crore INR; acting for GAIL (India) Ltd in disputes under Gas Supply Agreements amounting to 1,300 crore INR; and acting for Engineers India Ltd in construction contract arbitration. He has also been junior counsel in widely reported Supreme Court cases, including Bharat Aluminium Co. v. Kaiser Aluminium, which reconsidered the law of arbitration in India.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Delhi and is a member of the Bar Council of Delhi.
