Karan Singh

Karan Singh is a Partner – Corporate, Restructuring, Special Situations and Insolvency at Trilegal and one of the firm’s founding partners, focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions. He has advised clients on strategic growth plans in India, including acquisitions and financial investments across sectors.

He has advised on several high-profile cross-border and domestic acquisitions, representing buyers, vendors, lenders, investors and financial advisors. His experience covers a range of transactions, including mergers, demergers, share swaps, asset purchases, restructuring and spin-offs, involving listed as well as closely held Indian companies. He has also worked with several banks and institutions on offshore and domestic financing, with a track record in project and syndicated finance, structured finance products, regulatory matters and leveraged buyouts.

Karan now serves on the Board of Trilegal after having served for many years on the firm’s Management Committee. His representative clients include Huhtamaki Oyj, Altor Fund Danmark, Barings Private Equity India, Citibank and Merrill Lynch, and Emaar MGF Land Ltd.

He is recognised as an ‘Icon’ for Financing Transactions, Structuring & Project Finance by the India Business Law Journal Awards (IBLJ) A-List (2026), among IBLJ’s ‘A-List’ of India’s Top 100 Lawyers (2021–2025), ‘Highly Regarded’ for Banking and Corporate M&A by IFLR1000 (2022–2025), and ranked by Chambers & Partners Asia-Pacific for Corporate M&A (2014–2021). He holds a degree from National Law School of India University, Bengaluru, and is admitted to the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa.
