Gaurav Chatterjee

Gaurav Chatterjee is a Partner in Kochhar & Co.'s Chennai office, with 15 years of experience as a seasoned litigator. His practice encompasses corporate commercial advisory, real estate, litigation and arbitration.

He has represented numerous domestic companies, financial institutions (including foreign and Indian banks, NBFCs and insurance companies), IT and ITES companies, real estate and infrastructure developers, and diverse manufacturing companies before the Madras High Court, City Court, Criminal Courts, the Debts Recovery Tribunal (DRT) and the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT). He also represents clients in the services and media sectors. He is a member of the firm's pan-Indian White Collar Crime practice group and has been involved in matters concerning corporate frauds, money laundering and criminal breach of trust.

In his corporate advisory practice, he represents target companies and investors on strategic and private equity investments, including structuring and negotiation of inbound and outbound investments and legal due diligence. He routinely advises clients and project developers on real estate laws, including foreign investment in real estate, due diligence, construction agreements, and lease and license agreements.

Gaurav holds an LL.B from the University of Bangalore and a B.Com from the University of Madras. He is a member of the Tamil Nadu High Court Bar Association and the DRT & DRAT Bar Association, Chennai.
