G Vivekanand

G Vivekanand is a Partner in the Chennai office of CMS INDUSLAW. His practice focuses on Real Estate Law.

Vivekanand particularly specialises in due diligence of title to property, property documentation, conveyancing, stamp duty, registration, RERA and litigation.

He has practised in the Madras High Court, Chennai City Civil Court, statutory tribunals and arbitral tribunals, and has briefed and assisted various senior counsels over his career.

Vivekanand has conducted litigation, including arbitrations, for multiple developers as well as non-developers, both on land disputes and contractual disputes, and against statutory violations. He succeeded in obtaining a landmark ruling against time-barred demands for stamp duty and declaring the time limit for demanding any deficit stamp duty.

He holds a B.A.B.L from The Central Law College, Salem, and is enrolled as an Advocate in India. He speaks English.

Most recently, Legal500 Asia Pacific recognised Vivekanand as a recommended lawyer for Real Estate and Construction, and he has also been ranked by the Chambers and Partners Asia Pacific Guide 2024 for Corporate & Commercial in Chennai.
