M. Sudhakar

M. Sudhakar is a Real Estate Partner in the Chennai office of CMS INDUSLAW. His practice focuses on Real Estate Law.

Sudhakar has over 23 years of experience in advising clients on civil matters, including purchasers, sellers and borrowers in relation to all aspects of real estate transactions and civil litigations such as personal lawsuits, defending land acquisitions by government, contract-related litigations, arbitrations, documentation-related disputes, real estate project-related disputes, joint venture disputes and other related matters.

He has court experience as an advocate for about 11 years and has argued cases from the lowest grade courts to the highest grade courts in India. He has coordinated court litigations in India and UAE with leading law firms.

In particular, he has experience in advising on old land laws applicable in Tamil Nadu and has worked in real estate companies such as Sobha (India), Sobha Realty (UAE) and TVS EMERALD (India) as in-house Legal Counsel, dealing with legal matters (including real estate) in India, UAE, UK and Oman.

Sudhakar also coordinated with an aircraft manufacturer in the USA, a financier in France and various law firms in Oman, UAE, England, Isle of Man and Hong Kong in matters of documentation relating to the arrangement of finance for purchasing an aircraft.

Prior to joining CMS INDUSLAW, he worked as in-house Legal Counsel for prominent real estate companies, the most recent being with TVS Emerald (India). In the past, he has also worked with Sobha (India) and Sobha Realty (UAE).

He holds a B.A.B.L. from the University of Madras (2000) and is enrolled as an Advocate in India. He speaks English.
