Abhishek Boob

Abhishek Boob is a Partner in CMS INDUSLAW's Tax practice group, based in the Delhi & NCR office. His primary practice area is Tax Law, and he has over a decade of dedicated experience in tax litigation and advisory.

He is enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi and is a member of the Supreme Court Bar Association, the Delhi High Court Bar Association and the All-India Federation of Tax Practitioners.

He has successfully represented and advised clients across a diverse range of industries, including automotive and allied sectors, telecommunications, online gaming and gambling, blockchain technologies, information technology, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, insurance, mining, building automation and infrastructure.

His practice spans all stages of tax controversy and dispute resolution — from investigations and adjudications to appearances before Tribunals, multiple High Courts and the Supreme Court of India. He has secured numerous reported judgments, reflecting his ability to navigate complex legal challenges and deliver favourable outcomes. Leveraging a robust network of counsel across India, he and the team lead the design and implementation of comprehensive litigation management strategies for clients with pan-India operations.

His advisory expertise covers a broad spectrum of tax and fiscal matters, including GST and Customs classifications, eligibility of tax credits, tax structuring, supply chain modelling, tax amnesty schemes, incentives and exemptions, tax refunds, free trade agreements and foreign trade policy.

Beyond litigation and advisory, he actively engages with policy development, representing clients and industry associations before government ministries, the Tax Board and the GST Council. His insights have contributed to shaping key tax policies.

He was recognised by Legal500 Asia Pacific 2024 as a commended lawyer for Tax. Prior to joining CMS INDUSLAW, he was associated with PDS Legal (now Lumiere Law Partners) and worked closely with Ernst & Young LLP India. His publications include "Article on Foreign Trade Policy 2023: Discovering new export routes" (Financial Express, May 2023) and "Article on Foreign Trade Policy 2023: A Dynamic Dossier for Boosting India's Export Story" (Taxmann, April 2023).

He holds a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) from Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab (2015), and is an Advocate in India. He speaks English.
