S.M. Algaus

S.M. Algaus is a Partner in CMS INDUSLAW's Dispute Resolution practice group, based in the Mumbai office. His primary practice area is Dispute Resolution.

He brings over 11 years of experience in dispute resolution, with a strong focus on commercial litigation, arbitration and advisory work across diverse sectors. He regularly advises and represents clients in civil and commercial disputes, arbitral proceedings, insolvency and bankruptcy proceedings, intellectual property enforcement, and regulatory issues. He has acted for leading corporates, financial institutions, public sector undertakings and charitable organisations in matters of strategic importance.

He appears before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Debt Recovery Tribunal (DRT), City Civil and Sessions Courts, Small Causes Court, Electricity Regulatory Commissions and arbitral tribunals.

He has written articles on a variety of subjects, published by Mondaq, FirstPost, The Leaflet and The Law Anthology. Prior to joining CMS INDUSLAW, he was associated with Argus Partners.

He holds an L.L.M. from Queen Mary University of London (2013) and a BLS L.L.B. from the University of Mumbai (2011). He is an Advocate in India and speaks English.
