Naqeeb Ahmed Kazia

Naqeeb Ahmed Kazia is a Partner in the Bengaluru office of CMS INDUSLAW. His primary practice area is Technology Law, and he focuses on Technology, Media, Telecoms (TMT), Gaming and Fintech laws.

He regularly advises clients on outsourcing, licensing, e-commerce, fintech, e-sports, gaming and telecom-related matters. One of his key areas of practice is privacy and data protection, and he has advised several companies on aligning their data processing activities with data protection laws.

He has substantial experience in the fintech sector, including matters related to digital lending, co-lending, payment aggregation, cryptocurrencies, NFTs and prepaid payment instruments. He frequently assists fintech companies in structuring their financial products in compliance with Indian regulatory frameworks.

In the gaming space, he regularly advises fantasy sports operators, skill-based gaming platforms, real-money gaming companies and investors on a wide range of regulatory, compliance, structuring and operational matters.

In the telecom space, his experience includes advising on commercial communication regulations, use of Voice over IP (VoIP) in India, machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, IP-PSTN interconnectivity, telecom licensing, international MPLS services, MVNO regulations and cloud PBX services.

Most recently, he has been recognised as a 'Next Generation Partner' for TMT by the Legal 500 Asia Pacific Guide 2025. He was also awarded the TMT Rising Star of the Year 2024 at the Legal 500 India Awards and named among the Top 15 Rising Lawyers in South India 2024 by Asian Legal Business.

His publications include "Curbing Fraudulent Communications: A Glance At A Recent Private Member's Bill" (BW Legal World, May 2024), a chapter on Data Protection & Privacy (Chambers and Partners, 2024) and the India Chapter on Telecoms & Media 2022 (Lexology GTDT, 2022).

He holds a BBA LLB (Hons.) from the School of Law, Christ University (2014), and is an Advocate in India. He speaks English.
