Janini Somiah

Janini Somiah is a lawyer at Dua Associates in Bangalore, advising Indian and multinational clients on general corporate and commercial laws, with a particular focus on the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

Her expertise lies in structuring and drafting commercial contracts, and providing corporate advisory across company law, food and legal metrology laws, information technology laws, employment and labour laws, and real estate laws. She assists clients in developing compliant business structures and strategies for managing non-compliance risks and potential litigation. She also serves as an External Member on the Internal Complaints Committees of multiple entities, ensuring compliance with laws relating to the prevention of sexual harassment.

Janini holds a BSL LL.B from ILS Law College, University of Pune (2007), a Master of Business Laws from NLSIU (2007), and a Master of Laws from King's College, University of London (2008). She enrolled as an Advocate with the Karnataka State Bar Council in 2008.
