Deepesh Jain

Deepesh Jain is an Associate Partner and a senior member of the Vaish Tax group, focusing on Tax Law. He qualified his Chartered Accountancy with All India Rank 9 in the Finals and Rank 32 in IPCC, and has more than 10 years of experience in direct taxation.

His practice covers various aspects of direct tax laws. He has been involved in complex tax litigations before Courts and Tribunals across India resulting in landmark decisions, and regularly argues or assists Senior Counsel in tax matters before Courts, the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal and other appellate and quasi-judicial authorities.

He is actively involved in restructuring assignments including mergers and acquisitions, due diligence and complex direct tax advisory. He also regularly assists clients in filing tax returns, scrutiny assessments, registrations and liaisoning with department officials, and deals in matters relating to the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.

He is proactive in writing and circulating tax alerts and updates on recent issues relating to direct tax, and has addressed seminars and conferences on various issues relating to direct taxation.

His practice areas are direct tax, with related practices in litigation, advisory, mergers & acquisitions, and insolvency & bankruptcy. He holds a B.Com from Delhi University, is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (FCA), and holds a B.A. LLB. He is admitted to the Delhi ITAT Bar Association and the Bar Council of Delhi, and speaks Hindi and English.
