Deepashree Rao

Deepashree Rao is a Partner in the Direct Tax Practice at Vaish Associates Advocates, focusing on Tax Law. She has been part of the firm since 2012 and has over 15 years of experience advising diverse clients in direct tax matters.

In her time at Vaish, she has been extensively engaged in providing advisory and litigation services to clients in the direct tax arena. She advises various Indian and multinational groups on both international tax and domestic tax laws of India, and regularly represents clients before various judicial and quasi-judicial forums, assisting them in formulating litigation strategy and preparing comprehensive submissions and filings with tax authorities.

She caters to a diverse client base, ranging from listed multi-national corporations and domestic conglomerates across sectors including e-commerce, oil and gas, automotives, pharmaceutical, chemical, electronics, real estate and hospitality, to high-net-worth individuals.

Ms Deepashree is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has also completed her LLB. Prior to joining Vaish, she worked with one of the Big Four accountancy firms.

Her practice areas are direct tax, with related practices in tax advisory, tax litigation, strategic tax planning, tax-related criminal prosecution (advisory and litigation), and compliance and regulatory. She holds a CA, an LLB and a B.Com, and is a member of the Bar Council of India and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. She speaks English, Hindi and Kannada.
