Shailashri Bhaskar

Shailashri Bhaskar is Of Counsel at Vaish Associates, based in Mumbai, focusing on Capital Markets Law. A former deputy general manager at SEBI, she is associated with the firm’s corporate practice and has been in practice for the past 22 years, specialising in SEBI-related areas.

Her practice includes conducting due diligence for IPOs and takeovers, drafting offer documents for IPOs, rights issues and open offers under the Takeover Regulations, advising companies on compliances under the SEBI Regulations, appearing before SEBI, and registering intermediaries with SEBI. She also assists in registering AIFs, Portfolio Managers and Investment Advisers, and is associated with such entities in their regular compliances.

She is a regular speaker at programmes and seminars on a variety of topics relating to capital markets. She is one of the specialist editors to the latest edition of Ramaiyya’s Guide to the Companies Act, 2013 and M.C. Bhandari’s Guide to Company Law Procedures. She has co-authored a book on the SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015 and is the author of books on the SEBI (ICDR) Regulations, 2018, the SEBI (SAST) Regulations, 2011 and the SEBI (Prohibition of Insider Trading) Regulations, 2015.

Her practice areas are corporate, with related practices in SEBI, capital markets and funds formation. She holds a B.Com, is a Fellow Company Secretary (F.C.S.) and holds an M.B.A. She speaks English, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and French.
