Savitha Kesav Jagadeesan

Savitha Kesav Jagadeesan is a Senior Partner and Co-head of Kochhar & Co.'s Chennai office, specializing in Intellectual Property Law, Corporate Law, Employment Law, and TMT.

She advises extensively on labour matters including employer-employee disputes, termination issues, and has been appointed as an external member on Internal Complaints Committees for several companies on workplace harassment and POSH matters. She handles IP portfolios (litigation and prosecution) for clients across industry sectors including FMCG, auto parts, IT, education, and media and entertainment. She also advises on joint ventures, private equity investments, FDI, technical collaborations, M&A, and India investment strategies, and mentors startups on e-commerce, co-branding, content licensing, and cyber-related IPR issues. Notable work includes advising the Arulmigu Dhandayuthapani Swamy Thirukkoil on securing a Geographical Indication (GI) tag for Palani Panchamirtham — only the second temple prasadam in India to receive a GI tag after the famous Tirupathi Laddu.

Savitha holds an LL.M in Corporate Law from Annamalai University and a BA. LL.B (Hons) from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), along with a Diploma in Cyber Crimes and Cyber Forensics from NLSIU. She was a recipient of the Monash Research Scholarship (Australia) and has taught law at Monash University and Victoria University.

She is recognized among India’s Top 100 Lawyers by Forbes Legal Powerlist, one of the Top 100 IP Lawyers in India by Asia IP, and one of the Top 100 Women IP Professionals by the World IP Forum. She is a member of the Bar Council of Maharashtra & Goa and a Fellow of the Congress of Fellows of the Centre for International Legal Studies, Salzburg.
