Kaushik Mukherjee

Kaushik Mukherjee is a Partner in the firm's Mumbai office. His primary practice area is Capital Markets Law, and he specialises in capital markets and public M&A.

He regularly advises issuers and underwriters on a wide range of equity and debt capital markets offerings such as initial public offers (IPOs), qualified institutions placements and preferential allotments of equity and warrants, and public issues and private placements of listed international bonds, FCCBs and non-convertible debentures. He also advises clients on public M&A transactions, including takeovers, PIPEs, regulated companies M&A and court-approved mergers of listed companies.

He has recently been featured in the A-List by India Business Law Journal and in IFLR1000. Complementing the numerous accolades earned during his tenure at leading law firms, he has also been recognised by prominent legal publications (including India Business Law Journal) as one of India's leading general counsel.

He has multiple publications under his name, including a National Stock Exchange (of India) publication on corporate governance (as a special advisor), apart from authoring articles in leading financial dailies including the Economic Times and the Financial Express. He has regularly featured as a securities laws expert on panel discussions, including those organised by the National Stock Exchange, London Stock Exchange, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, Law 2.0 and the Indian Law Conclave. He has also been a guest lecturer for securities laws and law courses offered by the National Stock Exchange, NMIMS, IIM Rohtak and Government Law College, Mumbai.

He has been a capital markets and public M&A partner with leading Indian law firms including Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas and JSA Law, among others, prior to joining CMS INDUSLAW. He has also worked with the leading international law firm White & Case at its London offices, which has enhanced his overall international transactional experience.

His publications include a chapter on Healthcare M&A 2025, Chambers and Partners (May 2025) and an article on 'The SEBI and its legislative framework', India Business Law Journal (March 2025). He has been recognised by asialaw, the Indian Business Law Journal (IBLJ) and RSGI.

He holds a BSL LL.B. from Symbiosis Law College, Pune University (2003), and speaks English.
