Gautam Shahi

Gautam Shahi is a lawyer at Dua Associates, Delhi, specializing in Competition Law. He has been working in this field since the enforcement of the substantive provisions of the Competition Act, 2002 in May 2009, and has extensive experience in formulating legal strategies and representing clients before the Competition Commission of India, the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal, High Courts, and the Supreme Court of India.

Gautam advises on M&A transactions with respect to competition law compliance, including merger filings and seeking approval from the Competition Commission of India. He has created and administered competition compliance programs for various corporate houses, including drafting compliance manuals and training senior management. In addition to competition law, he has been involved in policy work, providing opinions and advisories to Government ministries, corporate houses, and trade associations on e‑commerce, international trade, WTO, and bilateral and multilateral agreements. He co-authored a book on Indian competition law published by Taxmann Publication, and has drafted study material on competition law for the Competition Commission of India.
